I watched Land Before Time yesterday, and sunk into a depression over how incredibly SAD that movie was. After that, I discovered the ugly underbelly of nostalgia.

Kidding aside, what a beautiful movie from an animation standpoint. It’s really one of Don Bluth’s best films. I think I saw that movie 100 million times in elementary school and even then I think I understood how well this film was animated. I remember being entranced by the dirt and mud.

If you don’t know what I mean, go watch the movie or look it up on youtube (the original, not the thousands of bad sequels it spawned), Watch for the ground when the dinosaurs move. There’s so much detail and attention put into how the dirt flies around and forms around the character’s feet.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m gonna go sulk over Littlefoot’s mom.
